Mgahinga Gorilla National Park is home to the mountain gorilla and golden monkey species, the world’s endangered apes. The park’s striking features are the three volcanoes of Mount Muhabura (4,127m), Mount Gahinga (3,474m) and Mount Sabyinyo (3,645m) that provide good challenge to the mountain climbers.
Gorilla tracking is the primary activity done in this park; however, visitors can indulge in Birding, Volcano Climbing/ Hiking, and Cultural Encounters.
