This 14-day trip brings you Rwanda’s finest parks; Akagera national park, Volcanoes national park and Nyungwe forest national park.

14 Days /13 Night

Upon your arrival at Kigali International airport, you will be welcomed by our representative who will transfer you to the city centre for a city tour if time allows. You will then be transferred to your hotel in Kigali City Centre

After breakfast, we will drive to Akagera National Park as we enjoy the beautiful scenery, landscapes and the neighboring local communities along the way.

Enjoy morning game drives in Akagera National park with wildlife such as elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, hippos and others. After lunch, embark on a boat trip on River Akagera.

Morning game drive in the park. Enjoy picnic lunch at the top of Mt. Mutumba which is approximately 1,825m high with captivating views of the park.

Thereafter, drive back to Kigali.

 

After breakfast, we drive to Nyungwe Forest via Butare (Huye), where it is possible to either visit the National Museum or Nyanza Hill (both activities are optional). Thereafter, we proceed to Nyungwe Forest for exciting primate encounters including the interesting Chimpanzees.

Depart for an early morning Chimpanzee tracking in Nyungwe Forest National Park. On this adventure, you will encounter several other monkey species. Optional activities include hike to the waterfall or visiting the Angolan Black Colobus monkeys.

This forested park is one of the largest in East Africa with 13 monkey species, including chimpanzees and the endangered Angolan Black Colobus Monkeys for you to experience.

Depart for a Canopy walk or hike to the waterfalls or take a nature walk for bird / primate watching.

Note: All activities are optional. Only one activity is included.

This day we visit the biggest and well known natural hot Spring in Rwanda - the Bugarama Hot Springs via Chamudongo natural forest. You may also take a warm bath here if you wish (optional). After lunch, we drive to Kibuye town.

Today we can relax, enjoy the breeze and serenity at this beautiful lake. We can have lake side walks and then drive to Gisenyi.

After a leisurely breakfast, we can go for a nature walk along the shores of Lake Kivu and later drive to Volcanoes National Park we have our meals and enjoy the evening at leisure.

Volcanoes National park is part of the Virunga Mountains that cover Uganda, Rwanda and Congo and where the endangered Mountain Gorillas are found. Also, the endemic Golden Monkeys and other monkey species can be found in this unique jungle.

An early breakfast followed by transfer to the park headquarters for briefing on the tracker’s code of conduct. You will then head into the forest for your Gorilla trekking adventure. Trekking may take about 2-4hrs.

You will be allowed a maximum of 1 hour for viewing these fascinating and endangered creatures, an escapade you will never forget! Thereafter, return to the starting point for your gorilla trekking certificate and later trek back to the lodge where you will relax and spend the rest of the evening at leisure. Dinner and overnight at your lodge.

There is more to experience and enjoy in this beautiful park such as; nature walks, visiting the golden monkeys, hiking one of the volcanoes or visiting Diane Fossey’s grave and her research base. We can as well experience another gorilla trekking (All activities are optional)

We will then drive to Lake Ruhondo and Lake Burera, the twin lakes between Mt. Musanze.

We can take a drive around the lakes for a birding experience and this is a great place to take photos. You can also visit the Musangabo viewing point or the Rusumo falls that are part of Rwandese history.

Other optional activities include nature walks along the lake shores or visiting to the pygmy local community to experience their way of life.

Later, drive to Kigali for overnight.

After breakfast, drive to Kigali for a city tour (optional activity) if time allows. On your city adventure, it is possible to visit the Genocide Museum, handcraft markets for souvenirs and other place. Transfer to the airport for your outbound flight.
